Hub City Volkswagen Dealership Renovation

Project Details
Marmot Builders renovated Hub City Volkswagen’s customer-facing areas to align with the brand’s new franchise model, managing a $2.037 million project. Initially, the design included a front entrance addition and a 1.5-metre showroom roof height increase, but Marmot proposed a false glass panel system to mimic a taller showroom, saving approximately $400,000.
Through collaborative redesign with the client, franchise representatives, and design team, the scope was adjusted to eliminate the addition, achieving $1.2 million in total cost savings before construction. The 16-month phased construction minimized disruption, allowing uninterrupted dealership operations.
Navigating development permits and MOT right-of-way approvals, Marmot ensured compliance while optimizing cost and functionality. The renovation reflects strategic construction management, delivering a modernized dealership that meets Volkswagen’s branding standards while maintaining operational efficiency.
